See, I feel the opposite. To me, Bana is way overrated and I didn't really care for his performance at all. Then again, I didn't care for Lee's butchery either. Oh well.
I also didn't mind the doppelganger effect with the Hulk. It's true that this happens in a lot of comic book movies, but here it fits. He goes toe-to-toe with monsters that match him all the time, and if that wasn't the case then we wouldn't have all the hard-core action that fans wanted to see.
Oh, and I believe the alternate opening (or one deleted scene, the one with the Arctic) shows Captain America in the ice after the avalanche but you really have to look for it.
