I heard it comes out on March 22nd, and I can't wait.

This was by far my favorite film of 2004. What a Disney film? When we have things like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Kill Bill Volume 2? Yes. Brad Bird did an excellant job making this film. It feels like a comic book and an old James Bond film. The soundtrack is totally awesome, one of the best ones in my collection.

I loved Bird from his work on The Simpsons (can't wait for the 5th Season release pretty soon either) and The Iron Giant is one of the best hand-drawn animated films this side of The Triplets of Belleville.

Kudos to it all!

I liked this movie's animation and satire even more than Shrek 2. Cover art is well done too.

Pixar always does an excellent job with its DVDs. I'm sure this will be no exception. This was easily one of my two favorite movies of the year. I CAN'T WAIT!

Tim,

Your insight is staggering. That being said, I have to agree... but I'll do it in French.

Les Incredibles sous incredible!

Loved this movie. Love Brad Bird. Wish I was Dash!

Sean (not sure if that French is even right, actually...) :D

A must own! The thing that amazes me the most about Pixars movies is the creativity. They know the format they're dealing with can show things real life isn't capable and they utilize this to their advantage in every single way.

Now..... if only they could re-release the Toy Story dvds. :(

Aside from one crazy person saying this was better than Eternal Sunshine and Volume 2 I agree. Very good cartoon.

It is a very good cartoon, and I can well imagine more than one person liked it better than either "Eternal Sunshine" or "Kill Bill 2." I don't imagine they're "crazy," either. But I won't argue the point. They're all good films, which is all that matters.

I found a bunch of easter eggs on disc 2. In many of the menu screens, if you wait about 30 seconds, a little spider guy will appear at the top of the screen. Click on that to get to various eggs. I know there are three of them at least. There might be more and I haven't checked out disc 1 yet.

Considering I hated Kill Bill 2, I can easily say I liked it more than that garbage. A wonderful film in its own right, though. Wonderful fun.

Bonuses.

Wal-Mart is selling the movie in a two set. The second being a "Print Studio" CD-ROM, featuring some 200 images from the movie. PC format only. The version I bought.

Best Buy has a limited edition lithograph. One hitch, it better not be a trend. You MUST be a member of their Reward Zone to participate.

Circity City is selling the movie with a limited edition inflatable ball. How... incredible.

Certainly The Incredibles is going to be more appealing than...well...almost anything really. Just put the name Pixar in front of it and regardless of the outcome it will always gross 10x more than any Miramax release.

Anyways, it's a good movie, but it's just a bond movie with cartoon characters. Makes me wonder why they gave Bird a nomination for best original screenplay. I don't recall Goldeneye getting a nod, and it was absolutely every bit as well written as The Incredibles.

So to sum it up, 007 in live action = senseless action and 007 in animation = wonderful entertainment.

While it may be similar in construct to a James Bond film, the Incredibles rises head and shoulders above any Bond film that's come out in quite some time.

That said, this film incorporates many more angles than any Bond film from more realistic depictions of relationship, especially family, to a more ingenious reason for the bad guy to be the bad guy: he actually wants to be the good guy in his own twisted way!

With great dialogue, characterizations and set pieces, this film certainly shoots over the moon much more than the rehashed dreck that the Bond franchise keeps dishing out. Plainly, it is simply a better picture overall than UA's stale 007 movies and deserved the kudos and box office it received. Brad Bird will be someone to watch for years to come.

Sean (as for me, well all we can watch for is my expanding waistline...) :D

What did everyone think of the Cars trailer?

The Cars Trailer?

Yes, well, I don't know? It really didn't look all that interesting to me. Cars that can talk and have personality just doesn't do it for me. I'd rather see the slapstick antics of the upcoming "Herbie" movie, and if you think about it, that's really not saying much for either upcoming film.

Pixar released this movie in widescreen and fullscreen versions. Haven't their previous releases been always having those two options available in one dvd release? Why the change now? :@

It's possible that Pixar/Disney wanted "The Incredibles" to look as good as possible on DVD, and a high bit-rate transfer like this one takes up a lot of disc space, especially when the movie is as long it is. I applaud them for their effort.
