Journey to the Center of the Earth (DVD)

Nice review...and you nailed it without the 3D, this movie is close to nothing. It's nowhere near the 'good' action/adventure serials (Raiders, Pirates, Treasure), not close...sadly, the 3D effects, continue to be just a gimmick to sell tickets, and here, the effects weren't that good, not in the bathroom scene, or the tape, or the yo-yo. The only time were I actually found it amusing (or entertaining) was when they fall, and with the magnetized rocks (which is a great scene, but that's still not saying much)...

it's funny...when "the mummy" appeared in theatres a few years ago, brendan fraser was called the poor man's indiana jones. this summer, he had two movies with a combined gross that was less than that of "kingdom of the crystal skull". i guess fraser is still the poor man's indiana jones.
