Forget James Bond, forget Jack Ryan. Here's the daddy of espionage movies for ya!
I can't think of a film that defines the word taut better than this. Excellent performances across the board and a reasonably realistic (though improbable) story make this a must-have. This thriller will have you second-guessing just who runs this country even more than you already do! If you haven't seen it, I would suggest checking out the original before you see the remake. I would hate for someone to miss this version if the newer one stinks.
The new edition packs a great transfer and a decent enough 5.1 soundtrack (the original monaural is also included) with a couple of insightful extras and a commentary track by John Frankenheimer.
If this movie doesn't make you think twice about playing Solitaire on your PC, I don't know what will. Don't miss this great classic.
Sean (...just hope you don't end up like poor ole' Mavole...)
