actually, if you apply the theory that the two actresses are playing the same character, then it's not homosexual sex but self-sex that you're watching. thus, the scene with naomi watts towards the end of the movie "explains" a lot.

Ah, yes. The movie about a dream within a dream. So I guess if I pleasure myself, with myself in a dream, this could mean I'm gay???? Naaa! It can't be since I'm usually stalking Naomi in my dreams.

We still do not have review for this DVD, which is very strange.
I mean it was probably one of the most "talked about" films during 2002 and 2003, and we still do not have any thoughts of the ??staff?? here.
The funny thing is ,during these two years a wide number of theories and explanations came on the web ( maybe there is exaturation in it a bit) , and that number is in large proportions now, so that we could easily say that ??Mulholland Drive?? is starting to be cult film.
I am just curious how the staff here on dvdtown are looking to this Lynch work!

I believe the film is from Universal, and Universal hasn't for a while now been sending out any discs to reviewers.

As for how I feel about the film, personally, I loved it. I loved the twists and turns, the double identities, the fact that you needed to watch the film a second time to recognize how all the characters in the heroine's split personality world fit together. It was fun stuff, and just bizarre enough to catch my attention.

Yeah, this movie was a Universal release on DVD, and since Universal does not give online media any DVDs for reviewing purposes, we have decided not to cover its products.

So it is obvious that Universal Studios policy is clear , they decided to stop sending discs to online media, so OK then, it is their decision. I didn???t knew that , so for how long this thing is happening?
But quite frankly it is not very understandable thing to me!!!
Firstly they are not in advantage over the competitors ( making films is business after all, and primarly reason is to make money- and I believe that every major studio have very same approach) ,they are not giving you DVD???s ,you do not make reviews and the customers ( let???s say we the people who are visiting this web site, we are potential customers) are not interesting in their product ( Universal films) . I am not taking into account the fact, that maybe I am going to see the film in theater ( or as we in Europe call it ???Cinema the old fashion way) as ,let???s say regular moviegoer.
Well,????.maybe the things are not exactly as I mentioned ,but it is not far away from reality , isn???t it?
But I am not sure ,Universal are not giving DVD???s to all the online media,or only to certain ones!
So I hope, I haven???t bored anybody with this little text, and my opinion !
Regards
A.

Alex, Universal never explained why it stopped sending DVD screeners to online media. They still send screeners to print media (newspapers, magazines, etc.). At any rate, this policy is for good for the forseeable future.

Usually I'm the guy who gets to review Universal releases because there are some I'll purchase. I have "Mulholland Dr." and I guess I never paid any attention to which studio made it. I tend to have a problem with taking notice as to what studio made what movie. If the film is good, I really don't care what studio it came from, but hey, that's just me.

I loved "Muholland Dr." and feel it is a film that should be taught in every college film class. It's one of my very favorite "mind-bender" films of all time; assuming there is such a catagory. The whole dream within a dream thing was a bit tricky to figure out but watching it again made it even more entertaining. I love how Lynch seems to have a style of painting a picture of a darker world, yet full of color. Very cool movie!

Therefore, Tim, may we possibly be seeing a full review forthcoming? I hope?

Where Lynch failed with "Lost Highway" he succeeds here. This is his best film. Even better than "Blue Velvet," IMO.
