I've been reading on other sites that the PQ is not good on this release...

mvckalel,

I have the movie on HD DVD, which Dean says uses the same encode as this Blu-ray edition. Also as Dean says, "a few flaws in the source material can be spotted if one would look hard enough." That's the key. If you look hard enough, you can spot flaws in anything. The question is how serious those flaws are and how you react to them. To some fringe videophiles, the slightest flaws can disturb them enough for them to exaggerate the problem, and a little noise or a little edge enhancement or a little too much DNR in a single scene can ruin the whole picture for them.

I say if you like this movie, enjoy it. The picture quality is not perfect, but it's the best this film has ever looked for home distribution.

various sites indicate that the video transfer alone takes up more than 30 gigs, which is more than what a dual-layer HD DVD holds.
