Producers, The [1968, MGM UA, 2-Disc Deluxe Edition]

I've been thinking about this film a lot lately; my roommate is studying Jewish/Holocaust humor, so we've actually engaged in several discussions about it. The conclusion we've come to is that while this movie is funny... it's really not as great as it's built up to be. I much prefer Brook's parodical farces to this movie.

Don't get me wrong, I really like it, but it's not as wonderfully funny as everyone says it is.

But thanks for the review, Jim. Doesn't seem like the A/V is improved enough to warrant a double-dip!
