Why didn't they give me the suicide ending on the first collection that I bought!? It came in a patriotic metallic case and looks badass on my shelf!

This double dip stuff needs to stop.

Spherx,

I know what you're talking about. I bought Rambo III thinking that it wasn't gonna come out in another edition. Fortunately for me I only paid about 7 bucks for it. I'll probably wind up getting this set but I can certainly understand your frustration. They seem to be double dipping a lot of movies these days. Botttom line= $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!

I???ve found (and this probably isn???t any revelation to anyone) that the best thing to do with these super hyped and spectacular DVDs that are released these days are to go ahead and rent the first version they put out and then wait and buy the "Super-Duper-Mega-Ultimate-Directors-Edition (if the film is worth a shit) when they always seem to bring it out a few months down the line. They marketed Laserdiscs the same way in the 80s, and the weasels that run these studios and production companies know we're all a bunch of DVD junkies out here and like dope fiends, we'll do anything to get a newer disc with Spielberg farting on it. Patience is not one of my best qualities, and I had a real hard time holding on to my old Dr. Strangelove DVD, instead of upgrading to the new hyped 40th anniversary re-issue just for a few little extras. The real problem now is the companies are getting smarter and are now re-issuing the re-issues on some of their titles causing more headaches. Oh well, no one ever said capitalism was going to be painless. Fortunately for me, Stallone is an easy choice - one viewing of Rambo, even on TV was enough for me - no sale! Although ???First Blood??? is still pretty good! :p

I agree with all of you. This is just a rushed edition and it makes me very angry. It also contains a host of extras that I do not understand. But what really makes my blood boil is the fact that no DTS track was included. I still say that there is a problem with the original remastered soundtrack for Rambo 2. The mix is entirely in the center and the soundstage is very narrow. I thought that perhaps this would be a great chance to fix this. Well, they did not, and they will also not get any of my money!!!!
