I enjoy looking around for people who still have not seen this movie, then forcing them to watch it. If you have not, see it and be impressed.

Fine review, John.

You mean there IS still someone who hasn't seen it? Grab that guy and pull him over to the TV set.

John: you would be surprised at some people in the foreign countries. I meet people who have not seen Jerry McG., Speed, Psycho...Titanic, finally. Though, I myself confess that I have seen neither of The Godfathers. Oh, and you might wanna banme from this site, but I have never watched Casablanca either.

Well, contrary to what a lot of movie buffs argue, there is a lot more to life than movies.

Underrated and underappreciated.

This is a great movie showcasing two amazing performances with an incredible supporting cast. Darabont's direction is fantastic. His shot composition is wonderful and he makes effective use of an unbelievable cast.

Thomas Newman's score is first-rate. One of my all-time favorites that I will listen to repeatedly.

Oh, and James Whitmore Rocks!

Underrated, perhaps, but I wouldn't say underappreciated. Practically everyone I know loves it, and it's currently one of the most popular films at the Internet Movie Database.

John,

True. I had forgotten about the IMDB rating as #2. I have just always been surprised by the cool reception this one received from many critics upon its release. Thankfully the fans have carried it beyond this.

There is a Special Edition coming out, isn't there?

Sean (for once, I will gladly double-dip on this one!...)
