Simpsons, The: The Complete 6th Season [Special Edition]

Finally a release date.

The older it was and the newer it is the worst it gets.

What I mean is the mid seasons were the best.

I really dislike the new case they are going for and rumor has it they want to continue these character cases. The drawbnack is that they look CHEAPER than the nice glossy packages they have been releasing and yet they price will still be just as high and the other huge downside will be how bad they will look next to the first 5 seasons. FOX should have stayed consistent with the packaging of this series. I am sure the executives at FOX thought the cases were cute but honestly they must not collect any of the series or else they would know how strage they will look next to the other sets.

I could care less about the packaging. It's the Simpsons and they could put the disks in a plastic bag for all I care. I just want the sixth season no matter what it comes in.

I'm not looking forward to the new packaging either. Sure Homer's bald head can fit the shape of a DVD but after that what will they do? It also looks like Homer's face is raised so these new sets won't stack or sit side by side well. I might as well put all the discs in my CD wallet and ditch what looks like some hard plastic case. I really hope there's a picture with more depth soon cuz maybe I'm just not seeing it right. I love the Simpsons and they've earned it to have their DVD's treated better.

Actually, now that I think about it, the regular styled box could be in there with the Homer shell around it, thus adding GREAT VALUE!

From what I have heard, it is just a slip case, the box set (which matches the previous seasons) is inside the plastic "Homer head." So the box sets will still look ok on your shelves.

I actually like that Fox is having fun with the cases, it's a nice change, but then I can also respect the fact that there are individuals who like their season sets to match. I would like to also give kudos to Fox for anticipating this and their willingness to satisfy the customer. Good job!
