Red lettering at the top, cast photo at the bottom. No word if its a cardboard slipcover for the cast photo leaving merely the black background, but there is a pre-release photo at

Or, you could merely look at it here.

That wasn't here when I asked, obviously. Nevertheless, thank you John. It looks like a slipcase to me, Onijay. Plus, if the barebones had a slipcase, why wouldn't this one?

I just realized that coverart seems silly, for lack of a better word. The characters on the cover, leave some of the major one's out in favor for minor one's. Benecio Del Toro is the front most character, and he sure doesn't make it long, along with the barely included Goldie. Where's Clive Owen?

WTF? Clive Owen left out AGAIN!?
Honestly, I'd rather like a completely new exclusive Frank Miller drawn cover, that would be awesome! Now I'm left feeling angry because my favourite is gone...

I bought the regular edition because of the limited slip cover (probably useless) and my copy also came with a shot glass that says "Frank Miller's Sin City" on the side, and a bonus disk with a 20 making of feature. Future Shop rules.

Matt,

I've watched it twice since I bought it in August, and enjoyed the heck out of it both times. I wouldn't say I'm a sucker.

Matt,

I sold my copy the day new edition was announced. Got same money what I paid for. So I am not a sucker either...

Would like to know if there is any truth to this.... no DTS tracks for the re-cut 4 seperate stories. Only the Feature Film Presentation will feature the DTS track... the others will be stuck with the dolby digital 5.1....

Thanks

Really funny point about Rodriguez there, I respect the man alot, but he sure likes himself;)

anyway, a little disappointed that we don't get a longer making-of, just lots of short features...

I tend to agree that the film runs long. I felt that way watching the original in the theater. That's not meant to say that I'm not really excited about picking this recut up to see what else is available!

I heard that most of the extra minutes of footage added are taken up by new credits for each of the stories!! Is this the case?

"I heard that most of the extra minutes of footage added are taken up by new credits for each of the stories!! Is this the case?" --Hock Guan Teh

Yes, that's partly true. Each of the four episodes now sports its own title screen and closing credits, which take up some additonal time.

So, out of the announced 23 minutes of extra footage in the new extended version, I would assume that around 6-8 (or more) of those are for credits. That sounds a bit like false advertising to me. :(

I just bought my copy on Tuesday but to my horror it seems that the Canadian DVD does NOT have the DTS track in either versions of the movie! I can only assume that the Eng DTS track has been dropped to make room for the French 5.1 track.
The 5.1 track seems awesome, is there a huge difference between the two in this case? Is it worth going through the trouble of returning mine (especially since I've opened it) and ordering it from the US? I did send an email to Amazon.ca where I purchased the DVD; the specs on their website does in fact mention the inclusion of the DTS track.
