Finally. It's nice to see the genius that is Mel Brooks getting some special treatment. Now we need to get a few more of his classics brought into the medium of DVD, like Robin Hood Men in Tights and To Be or Not to Be. I can't wait until May 3rd!

Given that I never bothered to pick up the current special version, this one might be worth it for me. DTS too!

Spaceballs is the most quoteable movie ever made.

When my son was 14 years old he and his friends watched SPACEBALLS repeatedly. This was on the heels of the Star Wars re-releases and The Phantom Menace.
In that order, I couldn't get him to give BLAZING SADDLES the time of day. I've been entertained by the latter named Mel Brooks Comedy for over 30 years, and as much as I liked SPACEBALLS, it is no match for Blazing Saddles (or anything else Mel Brooks has done since.)
The omission of the famous teaser trailer where Mel Brooks cries out. "Space." "Where are my balls?" is the only fault I can say about the single disc version. I might buy the newer 2-disc edition if I can be assured that this is on it.
The crappy LIFE STINKS was released on DVD not too long ago, I hope TOO BE OR NOT TO BE, and HIGH ANXIETY are given a DVD treatment before they do ROBIN HOOD - MEN IN TIGHTS.
I hope that on one of the future Mel Brooks DVDs they can include as a special feature his short movie THE CRITIC.
