While the film was certainly interesting, like any other work of Affleck or Freeman, I must say it was badly researched. Not only did the producers fail to find a Russian voice to dub the Presidents and rid them of American accents, but also references to Ukraine are foolish. When Jack is speaking suposadly Ukrainian, there are several problems: 1. he is really speaking Russian; 2. in that part of Ukraine 90 per cent of folks are Russian speakers and do not know Ukrainian; 3. even if they did they would still understand Russian language as all Ukrainians do. On top of this lingual mix, I must say that neither of the Russian Presidents was believable, although the directors managed to create good characters to play the scientisists (who also speak with American accent). The Presidents, however, would have to be tougher, as all Russians at power are. I do realize that such details do not really make any difference for most of the audience. Yet, a fine movie is a well researched movie, othervise it is just a very short soap opera. How difficult is it to hire a consultant to sort out these details? Hollywood is crowded with well educated Russians and Ukrainians.
