"The Sword in the Stone" is presented in 1.33:1 aspect ratio, and with the original theatrical aspect ration at 1.75:1, there hasn't been any tinkering or remastering. The picture looks very good, but no different from the previous release. There's some graininess, but by and large the frames are clean and fairly detailed for a DVD. Colors are bright, and there's no edge distortion."

Um...so is it 1.33:1 & 1.75:1 or is it just 1.33:1.
Disney's press release says this is presented in 1.66:1.
Why the discrepency here?
I'm only buying this disc if it's in widescreen.
I already have the fullscreen disc.

Well, that's not an easy question for me to answer. I know the press release says 1.66:1, but the box says Full Screen Ƒ.33:1), and when you watch it on a monitor there are bars left and right to pretty much verify that it's still 1.33:1. But there's some debate over whether the 1.33:1 image is "whole" or if it's been cropped. Some say it's been cropped, others swear that the 1.75:1 theatrical presentation was matted and that the images we're seeing on the 1.33:1 version are complete and what was shown in theaters. I'm not in a position to be able to tell you, definitively. All I can say is that it appears to be the same picture as the previous release--not true widescreen--and there's been no remastering to make it worthwhile for someone who already owns it to pick up the new copy.
