Sorry to nitpick John but I noticed two little errors in your review:
1) Disney released Tarzan in 2 editions when it first came out, the first being a single disc affair with next to no features, the second was a double disc offering with tonnes of features
2) The Emperor's New Groove was a relative flop, earning back only $86 million of its 100 million dollar budget. Still a great disney film though. But yes, Tarzan was a big success for disney.
It's too bad about the insignificant extras though. I was hoping to pick up a good special edition of Tarzan--looks like I'll still be waiting.

John,
I was hoping there'd be a review of this one; glad to see you got to do it. 'Tarzan" happens to be one of my favorite animated Disney films. You are right that it's a real visual treat and was certainly great to see on the big screen, years ago. I loved this flick and probably would have gave it a 9, but that's just me. ;)

Thanks, Onijay. I had forgotten about the "Collector's Edition." As for "The Emperor's New Groove," I was referring to the art work, characters, and story, it being an artistic success, not necessarily a commercial success. But you're right, I should rephrase that.

I just picked up Tarzan blind a week back and absolutely loved it. Emperor's New Groove is my favorite modern Disney, followed by Lion King... but Tarzan ranks up there, about on par with Aladdin!

Speaking of great modern Disney films, I would rank Mulan quite high. But maybe that's just me.
