Personally, I liked xXx. I'm excited to see the new directors cut and I accept the fact that the movie is nothing but cliched, mindless entertainment. And that's the gamble you take with a popcorn, mindless film, you either love it or hate it.

a little investigating in the 'dvd details' section and you'll find that April 19, 2005 is the release date.
Also, this is just 132 mins vs. 124 mins of the orginal.
It sounds like the extras will be sorta skimpy too, sounds mostly like fluffy stuff. I wouldn't be against another edition if the dvd was good, and worthy of another edition. but, sadly that's not usually what happens. This one only has 2 things that sound interesting, The Final Chapter: The Death of Xander with Khristian Lupo as Xander Cage, and the writer's commentary.

Oddly enough, I surfed the usual places and there is no mention of this title. Probably because it is not until April.

How they're gonna explain the transition in appearances from Vin Diesel to Ice Cube is gonna be tough, but I'm sure the screenwriters are up to the task.

one of the extras on this set is called "The Final Chapter: The Death of Xander with Khristian Lupo as Xander Cage". So, i'm guessing Xander Cage died. and, that's the explaination for the new xxx played by ice cube in xxx2.

Yeah, it looks like going with Ice Cube was a good idea after all. his star power is rising, while Vin's star power is depreciating it seems. Plus, Ice Cube isn't as costly as Vin. So, smart move, studios!

This is one of the worst Rob Cohen and it had lots of potential to be good but really didnt go anywhere so i have high hopes that STATE OF THE UNION will be better

Has anyone else bought this and seen the extra The Final Chapter: The Death of Xander? I saw it and thought it completely sucked. It was a very cheap death. Also, they never show his face because it's not Vin Diesel. I hope the sequel is better.

most of the reviews i've read said basically they just inserted a few deleted scenes from the original dvd to make this new dvd of XXX. So, this isn't worth it. Avoid at all costs. PLUS, there isn't even a writer's commentary even though the 'dvd details' section says so.
