After HD DVD's demise was announced by Toshiba this week, cheap movies in HD will surely be around for the more than 1 million HD DVD owners in the US.
So for those of you who don't mind that you will not be able to buy a new HD DVD player a year from now, some good deals can be made.
Right now they have 33 Warner Bros. titles with up to 57% off retail price.
Check out the selection
HD DVD players also took a dive in price. Amazon.com now has the A3 with two movies in the box for under $100. Even if you only use it as a up-scaler it is cheap.
That said, be sure to read the press release from Toshiba before buying.

Agreed! I'd like to have only "The Matrix", "The Animatrix" and "The Matrix Revisited" in HD - the two sequels TOTALLY BLEW!!!

These prices aren't low enough
- not indicative of a 'dying' format, or comparable to previous deals offered by Amazon. I've been finding better prices (and fixed $2.99 shipping) at eBay's sister company - HALF.COM (also Blu-ray movies discounted too).
At the site, click the tab at the top for "Movies" then either enter a search phrase (pick your format), or select it from the drop down menu, then click GO (you don't have to enter a title - as all will pull up if choosing a format and then clicking GO).
