Amazon.com talks about recent HD DVD events in latest newsletter.
The online giant assures people that they will continue with full support of both formats even after Warner Bros. start to release exclusively in the Blu-ray format starting June 2008.
Meanwhile, we'll continue to offer a full selection of all titles available in both formats and let customers choose the format that's right for them. - The Amazon High-Def Team wrote in their January newsletter.
They also made a list with the 150+ Warner Bros. releases currently available or coming soon on HD DVD.

However, Amazon will make "Lost: Season 3" on Blu-ray Disc their Deal of the Day today (1/29/2008) in order to help give Blu-ray that extra little edge! LOL

My question is: Now that they're GOING BACK to the island... are they still "LOST"?

That's funny. I just bought LOST last week for $57.99. So I called them up and they refunded me the difference. That was very nice of them. Total Amazon fan at this point.

I saw that 'deal of the day' until the clocked expired.
That deal never ran out of stock. I guess not many cared for the BLU RAY deal... better yet: Not many care for 'Lost'.

LOST is a great show, but I have to admit, I only bought it out of curiosity and the fact that it has a 5 star rating from high def digest.

I watched them on TV already. I wasn't about to shell out $40 to have it on BRD. Just because it usually sells for $58 doesn't automatically make it worth $40 either.
Say 1,000,000 buy it. Should they get $40,000,000 to just make up a season's worth of malarky as they go along? What ever happened to the giant Polar Bear. Just because three seasons have passed doesn't mean I'll forget there was one. Are they just hoping people will forget? Good lord!
There was a Christing polar bear for heavens sake...do they think we didn't see it? For crying out loud, there was a cock-a-doodee polar bear!!!

Back to the title of the thread...
I see no reason why Amazon would currently drop their support of the HD DVD format. When and if HD DVD loses (and it looks like it will) and Amazon no longer can make a decent profit, they'll bail.
