What if aliens took over the human race!?

Our own worst nightmares have come to life in Anchor Bay Entertainment's October 28th DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of Dead Space: Downfall. The movie is a must-have feature because it bridges the gap in the narrative between the Dead Space comic series and the highly-anticipated "Dead Space: Downfall", EA's (Electronic Arts Inc.) upcoming video game which will be released in late October.

Produced and animated by Film Roman (The Simpsons, King of the Hill), Dead Space: Downfall completes one of the most ambitious and terrifying multi-media story arcs in recent horror history - see the film's synopsis (and bonus features) further below. DVD suggested retail price is $26.97 ($34.98 for Blu-ray), but as of Oct 7 Amazon has them both on pre-order sale for just $19.95 each (and the BD edition includes a bonus Digital Copy of the film).

Film Synopsis:
An animated prequel to the Electronic Arts video game Dead Space.
(adult-themed material).

A starship on a mining mission uncovers an ancient artifact that may be prove the existence of God. Unfortunately, as the crew soon learns, it's closer to Pandora's Box--and they've just opened it. When it's removed from its resting place and brought on the ship, the artifact unleashes a long-dormant alien race, one bent on ripping apart - and taking over - every human aboard. Their screams CAN be heard in space... but only the slashers are listening. After releasing a vicious alien race that tears the ship apart, the unprepared crew is pitched into the chaos in a gruesome battle for survival. Based on the video game DEAD SPACE, this adult animated film dramatizes the shoot-em-up's introductory story.

For the crew of the USG Ishimura, this is how the horror begins: On a deep space mining mission to a remote planet, an ancient religious relic – thought to be proof of the existence of God – is unearthed and brought aboard. It is worshipped by some, scorned by others. But when the unholy artifact unleashes a long- dormant alien race, its glimpse of Heaven transforms the ship into a living Hell. The chaos is immediate. The carnage is uncontrollable. And an onslaught unlike anything ever witnessed by mankind has now been set free to rip this world apart. Prepare yourself for the disturbing opening chapters of the new EA game that takes adult animation to graphic new levels of bloodshed and terror. This is DEAD SPACE: DOWNFALL.
