Synopsis:
Batman Gotham Knight was headed by an impressive list of directors who have brought their distinctly different anime styles to the classic Batman character. The production was divided among three renowned studios – Studio 4ºC, Production I.G and Madhouse – and included the truly inimitable visions of directors Shojiro Nishimi, Futoshi Higashide, Hiroshi Morioka, Yasuhiro Aoki and Toshiyuki Kubooka. With stories written by several of the most talented writers of film, comic books, and animation, including Academy Award®-nominated screenwriter Josh Olson (A History of Violence), David S. Goyer (Batman Begins), Emmy®-winner Alan Burnett (Batman: The Animated Series), Jordan Goldberg (Associate Producer, The Dark Knight), and award-winning comics writers Greg Rucka and Brian Azzarello, Batman Gotham Knight presents thrilling new adventures of Batman that spotlight several of Gotham City´s most dangerous villains, including the fearsome Scarecrow, the freakish Killer Croc and the unnerving marksman known as Deadshot. Batman Gotham Knight is produced by Emma Thomas (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight), Michael Uslan & Benjamin Melniker (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight), Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series) and Toshi Hiruma.

By the way have you seen the Justice League: The New Frontier that was released in hidef recently? I've seen bits and pieces while my son watched it and it looks good. I also have Appleseed Ex Machina but haven't watched it yet either. Have you checked that out?
If/when you get this Batman" Gotham Knight on bluray let us know your thoughts.

View profile »I really want that forthcoming [June] DIRTY HARRY SpEd Deluxe Box Set of all 5 films, collector's booklet, etc, and Amazon has it on pre-order discount sale for $90... but I'm thinking within a few months (Aug or Sept), the price will have fallen to $70 or under, so why not just wait for the price drop. That's why we have RENTALS.
So in the meantime, I am a regular RENTER of BDs and HD-DVDs (both Netflix and Blockbuster), and enjoy the online rates and in-store 'freebies' when exchange my Blockbuster rentals at my local store, which this past week has added about 50 BD titles too! Now, when I return an online rental (3-out-at-time plan for me), and I walk out with a free Blu-ray disc rental, as previously I've been doing this with SD-DVD.

View profile »Since Amazon is offering the RAMBO Trilogy (first 3 films) on sale for $34.95 (and Free shipping), I'm going to buy it without waiting for a further price drop. However, the latest (4th) film RAMBO (arriving May 27th, see cover below), is still $27.95 even sale-priced, so I'll rent it instead, and wait for a later price drop to buy it ($20 and under). FYI: $15 and under is my 'automatic' buy price (of interested titles), but I'll occasionally pay more for an instant 'must-have' (like the $19.95 Predator this week, and I already own the SpEd SD-DVD set).

View profile »By the way, I heard that Warner did a major remastering of the Dirty Harry 5-film series... 4K resolution transfer (like they did with Blade Runner), so should look and sound better than ever. My favorites in the series are DH and Sudden Impact.
Edit: I should also point out that you can always sell an unwanted used disc (on Amazon, eBay, Half.com, etc), whenever a newer remastered edition becomes available. Last week I sold my Warner DVD of Dirty Harry (original edition, anamorphic) for $17 on Amazon, in anticipation of the forthcoming summer Blu-ray 5-set (or individual DH BD if interested). So, one day when Fox decides to re-release Predator on a 2nd BD edition (remastered SpEd), I will sell off the one I'm buying this week. I do this occasionally when it's worth it, and/or the value of the re-sale received is at least $10 or more.
