Synopsis:
Director Robert Zemeckis mines the epic Old English poem for his latest action adventure to feature performance capture animation. The medieval tale was adapted for the screen by Neil Gaiman and Roger Avery, and no doubt it bears little resemblance to the text you studied in high school. So the story goes, King Hrothgar (Anthony Hopkins) and his people are being terrorized by the horrific monster Grendel (Crispin Glover). Hrothgar puts out a call to any brave man who can come and slay the monster. Enter Beowulf (Ray Winstone) and his brave band of soldiers.

Beowulf is a mighty warrior, and he quickly dispatches Grendel, but in doing so he enrages Grendel's mother--played here by an extremely sexy and serpentine Angelina Jolie. Beowulf journeys out to lay waste to Grendel's mother as well, but soon finds his resolve tested by great temptation. His choice ultimately brings about a new curse--one far worse than Grendel--and he must live with regret, until the day finally comes when he is given a chance for redemption.

Has anyone ever purchased from this site before?
I saw several movies available on Blu-Ray that are not available anywhere else.
In this day and age, I'm always a little skittish about a site I've never used before.
Plus, if it's too good to be true...
Anyway, just asking.

Don't know about the site, but I would make sure that it is not region coded, this is an import and most import sites don't garantee the movie will play on all players.

Xploited Cinema is a very reputable site. I have several friends who have ordered from them before. They're based out of Ohio. They always clearly state whether or not a title is region coded, and they pretty much only sell "region all" titles which obviously makes sense since they're selling imports for mainly the US market. I'm thinking about getting Beowulf myself.

Ditto. I've bought several import HD DVDs from xploitedcinema.com. They are very service oriented and a pleasure to business with. Steve

Yes they are a reputable dealer. I purchased Reservoir Dogs, Bug, Total Recall, and Terminator 2 on HD DVD from them in the past. To be honest, I wouldn't post any news or offers unless I personally had good experience with them.

Great site with great service...buy with confidence

Just make sure you get a disc that isn't region coded...

That was never a problem with HD DVD though...

They have Band of Brothers on HD DVD for 194 bucks, very tempting. Anybody know if they will put it on blu ray?

According to a news comment posted 3/31 - READ HERE - a Blu-ray edition of Band of Brothers is likely by the end of 2008.

If you are in the US/Canada North America, Beowulf is already available on HD DVD for any HD DVD player owners that are interested.

I already have the NA Beowulf release, and can recommended it as outstanding for any fans of CGI.

No experience with the foreign Blu release, but if that is not region locked, that sounds like it is the player format that you want to own, all the best to you.
