Disney will release "Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds 3-D Concert" on DVD & Blu-ray this August 19th. This will be the first 3D movie to ever be released on Blu-ray. On opening weekend, the film grossed over $31 million in the US which is incredibly high considering it only opening in 687 theaters.
Extras will include: "The Ultimate Personal Tour- Hang Out with Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers during the tour," a "Sing Along Mode" feature and "Additional songs not seen in theaters."
Synopsis:
It´s two times the talent as Miley Cyrus performs as herself and her pop star alter ego Hannah Montana for the first time ever in the same blockbuster show! Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds 3-D Concert pulls out all the stops, with awesome sets, unforgettable music and off-the-hook dancing choreographed by Kenny Ortega ("High School Musical" franchise, "Cheetah Girls 2"). First, Hannah Montana rules the stage like the "Rock Star" she is, then she turns over the mike to Miley Cyrus so she can "Start All Over." A special performance by tween-tastic trio Jonas Brothers completes this ultimate concert experience.
Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds 3-D Concert is packed with bonus features that include a sing-along mode, awesome 3-D viewing capabilities, additional songs not seen in theaters, and the Ultimate Personal Tour that lets you hang out with Miley Cyrus and Jonas Brothers during the tour. It´s "as close as you´ll come to achieving the best of both worlds," according to Elizabeth Weitzman of the New York Daily News!

so... my daughter would love this...
my question is referring to the 3-D portion. would the 3-D version be viewable on any TV or would you need a 3-D ready display? started noticing some specs on newer TVs saying they are 3-D ready which i assumed meant my older display is not. I have the mitsu WD65731.

I'm going to make a point of missing this one too. I only clicked on this thread based on the slim hope that it referred to the first of the HD re-mastered Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes. How long must we wait?
Anyway, here is the answer to your 3D question. All '3D ready' means is that the TV has a high enough refresh rate to use shutter glasses without excess flicker (seems to be 120hz+). The glasses basically blank out one eye while one field or frame is shown and then the other eye while the next is shown. This basically halves the refresh rate for each eye, meaning that the TV needs a higher refresh rate not to flicker when viewed through the glasses.
So if your TV has a 120hz refresh rate or higher it should already be '3D ready'. You will of course need a pair of shutter glasses for each person to view the 3D content.
This TVs specs describe it pretty well:
