It's taken 55 years, but the most beloved fairy in animation history is finally getting her own spin-off movie.

TINKER BELL is now available on Disney DVD and Blu-ray. The new animated adventure reveals the origin of Peter Pan's fairy pal and delves into the magical role of fairies in nature.

From two-time Academy Award-winner John Lasseter, chief creative officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, and the storytellers at Walt Disney Pictures comes a film that has more stars than pixie dust. Along with introducing extraordinary new characters, Tinker Bell is enhanced by an impressive voice cast widely acclaimed for performances on stage and screen. Mae Whitman (Independence Day) gives voice to Tinker Bell, while America Ferrera (Ugly Betty) provides the voice of the mischievous animal fairy Fawn. Five-time Image Award honoree Raven-Symone (That's So Raven) is the light fairy Iridessa, Kristin Chenoweth (RV, Pushing Daisies) is the garden fairy Rosetta, Lucy Liu (Charlie's Angels) plays the water fairy Silvermist, singer-songwriter Jesse McCartney is keeper-of-the-pixie-dust Terrence, and Academy Award-winner Anjelica Huston reigns over Pixie Hollow as Queen Clarion.

Pixie Hollow is a secret hideway located deep in the heart of Never Land, and it's the work of fairies that flowers have color and dew drops appear, we're told in this whimsical animated tale. Every fairy is born with a special talent, and Tinker Bell thinks her talent as a "tinker" isn't as important as the rest, because tinkers don't go to the mainland like the rest of the fairies. And so Tinker Bell tries to change who she is, with disastrous results. Eventually, she learns a common Disney theme: being yourself is special enough.

TINKER BELL (Rated G) is the first in a planned series that will feature Disney fairies in the House of Mouse version of the "Fairytopoia" series. The DVD has a suggested retail price of $29.99, and $34.99 for the high-def Blu-ray.

Exclusive DVD bonus features, including a set-top game, a behind-the-scenes "making of" featurette and more are divided into two distinctive menus. The Blu-ray Disc contains all the same bonus features as the DVD, plus all new Disney BD Live Network Incentives!
