It is Friday and the start of a new tradition called "New Features Friday #1" on DVDTOWN.com.

The idea is that we will launch new site features early on every Friday. Some big and some really small or perhaps bug fixes.

Lets get started with the first batch there are some nice stuff among.

My Town Avatar icons:
We have added 15 new icons and you can change yours in Account Settings (Requires for you to be logged on)

User ratings on releases:
It is now possible to see the average user rating for a release on all pages related to that release. If you want to rate a movie it needs to be in your collection or wish list. Here you can click the and rate the release.

Updated main page on the HD section:
We have updated the main page of our HD section. First, the tab is now called "Blu-ray and HD" to better represent the content. We have also added a row at the top of the page. It features reviewed Blu-ray releases just released or shipping very soon.

Hope you can use some of the new features. Have great one and take care.

We will return next Friday with new and exciting stuff.

"Account Settings" URL (link above) is incorrect - "hhttp".

Any chance of also correcting bugs that appear whenever trying to insert various symbols, URL-linked text, or a semi-colon between these brackets> [ ] ...?

I've noticed this, and am forced to switch to parenthesis symbols ( ) if I... (1) use a semi-colon, (2) insert any of the new smiley-type symbols, or (3) linking URLs to texts - as ALL won't appear correctly if shown within brackets [ ].

Also, you do know that not all of the symbols even work? I've tried the question mark symbol, and the 'idea' symbol and they wouldn't work before, so I'll try them again right now... (and then post and see if working).

EDIT - well, the 'idea' symbol works, but NOT the ? mark symbol as you can see just above^, as it looks like a partial smiley face with a : (colon) next to it>

I'm going to try the ! mark too and see if it works> <(yep, it's OK, but not the ? mark above).

Another suggestion regarding AVATARS... how about various country flags, so some here can identify where they are located?

I use the American Flag for my avatar (as I live in the Houston TX area, and am patriotic ), but it would be nice if other country flags were also available, so that those in Canada, England, Scotland, etc might want to identify their location, or if they just want to promote the colors and/or logo.

So because we don't have the American flag as our avatar that means that we are unpatriotic?? I guess that, AND not supporting the war...

I really don't get the new avatars, many of them are girly -- as if we have an overpopulation of girls in the message board.

Speaking of flags, I'd like an avatar of the flag of Scotland.
