The North American HD DVD Promotional Group today announced that sales of dedicated HD DVD players exceeded the 750,000 mark. The data is based on retailer reports and other point of sale data, and includes standalone set-top players as well as the Xbox 360 HD DVD player.
Blu-ray is believed to have sold 400,000 - 500,000 dedicated players plus close to 2 million Blu-ray equipped Playstation 3 gaming consoles.

I have a Toshiba HD-A2 and a Playstation 3 so I'm pretty happy that now no matter which format wins (if either win).....I have both. AND it was cheaper than that supposed piece of crap LG player. The only b***h of it all is that the movies are still a paycheck and a half!!! LOWER THE PRICE ON THE MOVIES THEMSELVES!!! I wanna take advantage of the HD!

Well for me, it was a realistic wider use of the consoles, and I'd feel safer buying the movies. I already owned the XBOX HD-DVD add-on, but when the HD-A2 went to $98 I grabbed 4... One for me, and 3 for friends.
This increased the user base of the players, and made me feel safer about buying movies... So I have.
