According to NY Times Warner will announce a new disc concept next week called Total HD Disc.

Warner Bros. will introduce a new HD format next week at this year's CES in Las Vegas. The idea is to include a Blu-ray and HD-DVD layer on one disc, allowing consumers to buy one disc that will play on both a HD-DVD and a Blu-ray player.

This certainly is an interesting idea if more studios follow in Warners' footsteps. However, studios like 20th Century Fox and Disney currently stand firmly on supporting only Blu-ray and Universal on supporting HD-DVD.
