Sony is releasing two memorable UK action classics on Blu-ray in the coming months. Debuting November 18 is Guy Ritchie's REVOLVER (2005), starring Jason Statham, Vincent Pastore, Ray Liotta, and Andre Benjamin (of the musical group Outkast, and who recently starred in the comedy Semi-Pro). It includes most of the bonus features previously included on the earlier DVD release (SRP $28.95).

Revolver was co-produced by Luc Besson (the French writer/director of sci-fi thriller The Fifth Element), and on December 2 Sony is releasing a Blu-ray of his own electrifying action drama LA FEMME NIKITA (1990), which starred Anne Parillaud, Marc Duret, Patrick Fontana, and Jean Reno (also $28.95).

Both of these releases are BD-Live enabled and include Dolby TrueHD audio, but unfortunately there are no bonus features listed on the "Nikita" cover, so it looks to be a movie-only release. We will update later if Sony indeed provides any of the previous DVD special edition extras. But for now, don't expect any.

One night, Jake, Billy and their other brother Joe are invited to sit in on a private game, where Jake is expected to lose to Dorothy Macha, a crime boss and local casino owner who can't play for squat, but always wins because people are too scared to beat him. Jake isn't afraid of Macha, and not only beats Dorothy in a quick game of chance, but takes every possible opportunity to insult the man.
