Microsoft lowers the SRP for the HD DVD drive for XBOX 360.
The Xbox 360 HD DVD Player price has dropped from $179.99 to $129.99 (U.S. MSRP.) This new price is effective immediately in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
You can also get 5 free movies with the drive if you buy it before February 28th.
Earlier this week Amazon.com had a sale pricing the drive at $79.99. However, they sold out very quickly.
Amazon.com now has it in stock again. Their new price is $119.99 and still includes King Kong on HD DVD and a remote in the box.

You can do that? I thought that you could just plug it to the PC and DL a driver to make it work on it. How do you make it work for the PC? I want to get one for mine too.

View profile »I'm thinking that instead of getting a second player for the bedroom, I could just outfit a PC with an HD DVD player and use TVersity to bit stream it downstairs through the PS3. Then I can move the HD DVD player in the HT room upstairs to the bedroom. Of course, wifi won't cut it for that purpose, so I'd have to do the cabling earlier than I would have hoped.
