Microsoft has announced that they will start to ship a new XBOX 360 model this August.
It will replace the 20GB XBOX 360 Pro Model which received a price cut down to $299 while supplies last.
The new Pro model will have a 60GB harddrive and a $349 price tag.
The new model also list DVD upscaling as a feature. "Upscaling DVD Player: With an HDMI cable (sold separately), watch your favorite DVDs in near high-definition using the upscaling capabilities of Xbox 360." is now part of the specification sheet. It is unknown at this time if they simply refer to the existing feature in current XBOX models.

The Xbox 360 has been upscaling from the start also.
They never mentioned it before though.
The upscaling is so-so, they should update it.

Yeah I don't use game consoles to watch movies either. I've always worried about RROD even though I now have a falcon 360, so I never watch dvds on it. I want all of my time spent playing games on the 360.
Besides people buy PS3's to watch movies.

I use my Xbox 360 to play games and movies. Mainly because ... It has the feature... why not use it? It runs them well. Not to mention I don't want to pay another 50-100 dollars for a decent DVD Player. I have enough remotes and barely any room to put one.
