Sources close to Sony have said that a BD Live update to the Playstation 3 could arrive as early as May or June.

Sony told Home Cinema Choice Magazine that PS3 owners can expect the firmware update when the first BD Live stand-alone players hit the market.

The first Blu-ray player to feature BD Live is believed to be the Panasonic DMP-BD50 which should street in late May or early June.

BD Live allow for online features on Blu-ray releases.

BD Live on PS3

So now we only have to wait until May or June to get a feature that HD-DVD had for a year and a half? How lucky we are!!!

And then my BD-P1400 will be 2 (bonus feature) generations behind. What is going on here?

That's at least something those who have been HD-DVD supporters have had the luxury of. That's the problem with Blu-Ray, the marketers deceived the consumers on how great it is when they haven't been truthful with their product. Unfortunately, it's too late now.

But at least we HD DVD buyers don't have to wait for profile 2.0

...but yeah, let's see when Sony finally gets itself together and start releasing reliable and affordable stand-alone players...

I don't care so much about the Profile 2.0 thingy as much as I was look forward to:

1. DTS HD MA internal decoding
2. More visualizations
3. Flexibility in customizing the media server menus
4. Advanced image processing options

Any chance of getting at least item #1 at the same time as this Profile 2.0 capability?

Skyhawk, dts is working with SONY to provide an update so that it can internally decode dts HD/MA. As far as the profile 2.0, I could careless. But I do feel ya on the dts issue.
