EXCERPT: If you recall, the Predator creature is from another planet, coming to Earth for centuries to hunt and choosing to hang out for most of that time in the jungles of Central America. I suppose he figured there was more game there for him to hunt. Anyway, tiring of the rain forests, he (or another of his kind; it isn't made known until later in the movie, and then it's still not too clear) decides to move to the urban jungles to find his trophies, which include human skulls and various parts of the human anatomy. A connection is made to the later "AVP" movie when we get a glimpse of an Alien skull in the Predator's trophy room.
The critter is a perfect hunting machine and butt-ugly to boot. He sees with thermal-image vision, meaning he senses body heat, and he can bend light so that his physical structure is mostly invisible to his prey. Seems an unfair advantage, given that he's also amazingly strong and agile, with extra-keen hearing, uncanny intelligence, and advanced body armor and weaponry. We're told he's a hunter from a race of hunters, and we of the Earth are the hunted.
Rated R for strong violence and language, and for nudity, sensuality and drug content.
Film Synopsis:
Pull over, park, and pray.
This electrifying action sequel unleashes the deadly invisible Predator in another jungle -- the urban jungle of Los Angeles. Danny Glover stars as a lieutenant who mistakenly concludes that mangled bodies found by the police are the work of feuding gangs. Instead, he finds himself confronting a savage alien who has come from a distant world to hunt humans for sport. Gary Busey and Ruben Blades co-star in this suspense-packed, high-tech thriller.
In 1997, ten years after a band of mercenaries first encountered an extraterrestrial, some mysterious force begins murdering drug dealers. Police officer Mike Harrigan goes after the culprit, but his investigation is hampered by a federal agent who has his own reasons for trying to capture the mysterious killer.
The invisible creature from another world is back - but this time seeking out heat and conflict - is drawn to the gang-ruled and ravaged city of Los Angeles, 1997. The detective-lieutenant and his police force set out to capture this brutal murderer, ignoring the warnings from a mysterious government agent to stay away.
Sequel to the 1987 hit Predator (starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and directed by John McTiernan). Both films were written by Jim and John Thomas and produced by Lawrence Gordon, Joel Silver, and John Davis. Creatures created by Stan Winston.

About the only part I like in the movie is when you get a clue of "Alien" on the predator's space ship. Other than that, the movie could have been named "Lethal Weapon 3 1/2"

Yup. Classic foreshadowing. I loved that ending. I'll buy the bd. It's worth having a good copy of the film.

Gotta agree with you, I kept expecting to the ending to be Riggs waking up Murtaugh and ask him what he was dreaming about.
