As rumored Sony announced something "big" yesterday.

Sadly for Blu-ray and PS3 fans it was a cheaper Playstation 2 and not 3.

The now more than 10 year old console can now be yours for $99.99.

A Playstation 3 price cut now seems unlikely - at least in the near future and will properly only be seen in form of included games and a bigger hard drive at the same $399.99 price tag.

Too bad they can't seem to find it within themselves to put PS2 backward compatibility back into the PS3...
