Following Toshiba's decision to pull the plug on HD DVD the HD DVD Promotional Group stops all activities.

In a letter to their members they write:

The HD DVD Promotion Group was dissolved as of March 28, 2008, and the website was closed accordingly.

Please access to DVD Forum for HD DVD formats, and DVD Format/Logo Licensing Corporation for format books and its license. Regarding the HD DVD products, please contact each selling agency directly.

I just swung by the HD-DVD Official Site and the site is officially shut down. All is left there is the "special announcement" from Toshiba announcing end of HD-DVD operations. No clips, no links, no HD-DVD's title list. Just a black, gloomy, reminder of HD-DVD's demise.

The vote was to dissolve the HD DVD Promotional organization, and turn the rights and HD DVD licensing over to the DVD Forum.

If HD DVD goes anywhere from here, it will be under the control of the DVD Forum.

If say, Micro$oft decides that they want to use the TL51 HD DVD-ROM for something, the licensing is now handled by the DVD Forum, and not a separate working group.
