So here is a Blu-ray/DVD combo like we've been hearing about.

A good movie too!

Well, it's actually two discs in the package (Blu-ray and DVD), rather than a combo like previously seen with "HD DVD/DVD combo" discs. Just to be clear. I believe Disney's done this a few times as well (BD + DVD in same package).

Yeah, that's what I meant, it's a combo release. But yes, it's not a true combo disc as some of the HD DVDs were. Those were really intended to prevent the person from re-selling one of the copies, because I can tell you from first hand experience that a 'combo disc' of any two formats will always be more expensive than one disc of each in one package.

Weren't these Blu-ray/DVD versions packaged together being speculated about quite a bit here a few weeks ago?

Well, I can't remember exactly the info you are referring too Chef, but CLICK HERE for the December news about the "BD/DVD" 1-sided combo disc (blue laser that reads the BD layer, and red laser that reads the DVD layer).
