On June 3, Paramount will release "There Will Be Blood" starring Daniel Day-Lewis on Blu-ray. The only special features known at this time are deleted scenes, trailers, and a featurette about the film.

Synopsis:
A sprawling epic of family, faith, power and oil, THERE WILL BE BLOOD is set on the incendiary frontier of California´s turn-of-the-century petroleum boom. The story chronicles the life and times of one Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day-Lewis), who transforms himself from a down-and-out silver miner raising a son on his own into a self-made oil tycoon. When Plainview gets a mysterious tip-off that there´s a little town out West where an ocean of oil is oozing out of the ground, he heads with his son, H.W. (Dillon Freasier), to take their chances in dust-worn Little Boston. In this hardscrabble town, where the main excitement centers around the holy roller church of charismatic preacher Eli Sunday (Paul Dano), Plainview and H.W. make their lucky strike. But even as the well raises all of their fortunes, nothing will remain the same as conflicts escalate and every human value – love, hope, community, belief, ambition and even the bond between father and son – is imperiled by corruption, deception and the flow of oil.

Not me, I could care less. I find it too hard to enjoy a movie when you don't like ANY of the characters. Nevertheless, I have this strange feeling that in about 10-years people will be talking in awe about how great this film is.

Tim,

They're talking in awe today, at least the Academy is (giving Day-Lewis an Oscar), but in ten years I'll bet people will have forgotten it.

What movie were we talking about?

I love you, Tim, but you're delusional. It is a great film with a wonderfully scene chewing performance by Day-Lewis. Fantastic production design and location work. Riveting story.

Jason,

PTA should be banned from making movies. At least Uwe Boll knows that he makes crap. PTA thinks that his doodoo smells better than other people's doodoo.

I'm not sure how I'll react to this film the second time through on BD. The first time, I enjoyed it for about fifteen or twenty minutes before tiring of Day-Lewis's one-note performance.

Will blood on a Blu-ray impede playback? Is there any way of cleaning it off?
