I´m hoping all of you find this as funny as I do. Somehow, between Sunday afternoon and Monday night, this week´s new release bit found itself deleted from my handy dandy little flash drive. I can find the shortcut, but the actual file is gone. Being the computer idiot I am, I wouldn´t know the first place to try to find a backup copy…if one even exists. So we´re going to call this Version 2.0. I´ll try to remember all the jokes I had come up with.

One thing that didn´t get deleted (thankfully) was my master release list, so I do know the major release of the week of "Transformers" on Blu-ray. It´s a two-disc set which mirrors the previous HD DVD edition which came out last year. (The sequel debuts next year with the current title "Transfomers: Revenge of the Fallen.")

Elsewhere on high def is the Arnold Schwarzenegger/Vanessa Williams actioner "Eraser", and a twin bill of Marvel/Lionsgate animated films: "Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow" (DVD also) and the hideously subpar "Invincible Iron Man" (DVD already available). Kinda odd-at least to me-that the next animated Marvel film is finally coming out since the last one hit the street August 14, 2007. Besides, these flicks are small beans compared to the DC versions, right?

I mentioned a week or two ago how obvious it is the new TV season is right around the corner, based on DVD releases. The glut doesn´t let up this week with "The Big Bang Theory" Season One (debuts September 22), "Desperate Housewives" Season Four (September 28), "Eli Stone" Season One (October 14), "Ghost Whisperer" Season Three (October 3), "Life" Season One (September 29) and "The Office" Season Four (September 25).

In catalog TV releases comes a twin bill from "Dr. Who": "The Invasion of Time" and "The Invisible Enemy." Not to mention the next-to-last set of "Cheers" (Season Ten, if anyone needs the info). Last two TV items I want to bring to everyone´s attention. "Cash and Treasures" Volume One, a Travel Channel show, hits the shelf. The host goes to various areas in the country to dig for diamonds, emeralds, gold and a whole bunch of other money making elements. And, finally, the Warner remaster of "It´s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown."

And here comes my favorite part of our weekly chat. "Itty Bitty Titty Committee," "Bachelor Party in the Bungalow of the Damned" and the "Bavarian Sex Comedy Collection" (featuring "Run, Virgin, Run," "Inn of 1,000 Sins," "Bottoms Up" and "I Like the Girls Who Do").

On that note, we´re wrapping up early. Believe me, looking ahead at the home video calendar, you´re going to beg me for an easy week between now and Christmas.
