On December 29, the first season of "United States of Tara" hits the shelves as a two-disc DVD that includes all 12 first season episodes plus bonus features as yet unspecified. According to the press release, "United States of Tara" is a joint effort by Showtime Networks, CBS Home Entertainment, and Paramount Home Entertainment.

Toni Collette shines in her Emmy Award-winning role as Tara, a loving wife and mother who goes off her dissociative identity disorder medication, unleasing a cast of internal characters--for good and bad--including a beer-guzzling gun-loving Vietnam vet, a foul-mouthed teenager and a perfect ´50s housewife. From the brilliant creative minds of Executive Producer Steven Spielberg and Creator/Executive Producer Diablo Cody, the Oscar-winning screenwriter of "Juno," "United States of Tara" boasts a stellar supporting cast including John Corbett and Rosemarie DeWitt.

Heralded by critics as "high-caliber storytelling" (Salon) and "the television equivalent of the book you can´t put down" (Miami Herald), the series premiere was the network´s highest rated program since 2004. It also received a 2009 Television Critics Award nomination for Outstanding New Program of the Year. The two-disc DVD includes "Tara´s Alters" and "Sitting Down With Diablo Cody" featurettes, an audio commentary with Cody on one episode, and the Season Three premiere episode of the Showtime hit series, "The Tudors."

"United States of Tara" is presented in 16x9 Widescreen with English 5.1 and 2.0 Surround Sound and Spanish Mono. The DVD is not rated in the U.S. and rated 14A in Canada. The total running time is approximately 332 Min. The DVD will be available for the suggested retail price of $46.99 US and $52.99 CAN.
