UPDATE #2... No sooner than Universal changed the release date for 8 Mile on Blu-ray to next year (see below), the studio has again changed the date back to November, this time on Nov 18th, releasing it one week before the Blu-ray releases of both Jarhead and The Kingdom (arriving Nov 25 as previous scheduled). So for Eminem fans there will be no further delay in acquiring this film for their BD collection - unless Universal decides on another release date change.

UPDATE... We've received word from Universal that the previously scheduled Nov. 25 release (see below) of Eminem's popular 8 Mile film on Blu-ray has been officially rescheduled for arrival in 2009, on January 6. Perhaps the studio is tweaking the edition to include more bonus content (Eminem fans can only hope). We will provide another update if more info becomes known.

Film Synopsis for each film:
8 MILE
"Eminem wins by a knockout!" raves Rolling Stone as the Grammy Award-winning phenomenon makes his feature film debut in this gripping story about the boundaries that hold us back - and the courage that can set us free.
For Jimmy Smith, Jr. (Eminem), life is a daily fight just to keep hope alive. Feeding his dreams in Detroit's vibrant music scene, Jimmy wages an extraordinary personal struggle to find his own voice - and earn a place in a world where rhymes rule, legends are born and every moment... is another chance.
From Academy Award winner Curtis Hanson (L.A. Confidential) and Oscar-winning producer Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind), 8 MILE is the triumphant film TIME Magazine hails as "Powerful!" - and Entertainment Weekly applauds as "Electrifying" and "Mesmerizing!"
JARHEAD
"A masterwork. Jarhead is more than a movie - it's an experience." -Gene Shalit, The Today Show
Academy Award®-winner Jamie Foxx and Jake Gyllenhaal star in this critically acclaimed, brilliantly unconventional war story from Oscar®-winning director Sam Mendes.
JARHEAD (the self-imposed moniker of the Marines) follows "Swoff" (Gyllenhaal), a third-generation enlistee, from a sobering stint in boot camp to active duty, sporting a sniper's rifle and a hundred-pound ruck on his back through Middle East deserts with no cover from intolerable heat or from Iraqi soldiers, always potentially just over the next horizon. Swoff and his fellow Marines sustain themselves with sardonic humanity and wicked comedy on blazing desert fields in a country they don't understand against an enemy they can't see for a cause they don't fully fathom... Foxx portrays Sergeant Sykes, a Marine lifer who heads up Swofford's scout/sniper platoon, while Sarsgaard is Swoff's friend and mentor, Troy, a die-hard member of STA-their elite Marine Unit.
THE KINGDOM
Oscar® winners Jamie Foxx (Ray, Collateral) and Chris Cooper (Breach) and Golden Globe® winners Jennifer Garner (Daredevil) and Jason Bateman (Smokin' Aces) ignite the screen in this high-intensity thriller about a team of elite FBI agents sent to Saudi Arabia to solve a brutal mass murder and find a killer before he strikes again. Out of their element and under heavy fire, the team must join forces with their Saudi counterparts. As these unlikely allies begin to unlock the secrets of the crime scene, the team is led into a heart-stopping, do-or-die confrontation.
