Video: Season four had extremely poor video quality, but this seasons episodes seem to have weathered the years a little better. It still boasts the same slight graininess and faded colors of Those Seventies' Shows, but that seems to have come largely from the film stock that was used. The aspect ratio is 1.33:1, with closed captions.
Audio: As with the other seasons, the audio appears to be Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono matrixed to other speakers with identical information. The soundtrack has a muted, faraway quality that takes a while to get used to. There's just not the richness or natural-sounding quality you get with a soundstage.
Extras: There are no extras.
Bottom Line: Its fifth season "All in the Family" took on quieter, personal issues than the political hot topics that earned it Emmys its first four seasons. But it's a tradeoff. While Season Five doesn't pack the same punch as in previous years, the everyday issues are ones that people can readily identify with.
