8) "Quibbling Siblings"—Randy gets jealous when Brad's the one who gets to appear on "Tool Time."
9) "My Dinner with Wilson"—Wilson spends Thanksgiving with the Taylors, but shocks them when he announces he's moving.
10) "Ye Olde Shoppe Teacher"—Tim's old high school teacher comes to visit, but gets out of joint after (what else?) a guest stint on "Tool Time."
11) "Some Like It Hot Rod"—This time it's Jill who accidentally sabotages her husband, who hopes to get his hot rod in an auto magazine.
12) "'Twas the Night Before Chaos"—Jill's parents and Tim's brother and his family descend upon the Taylors, while Tim acts like Chevy Chase in trying to beat a neighbor at the Christmas light game.
13) "The Route of All Evil"—Brad's paper route is killing him, but he hesitates to quit because he doesn't want Dad to think less of him.
14) "Brother, Can You Spare a Hot Rod?"—Randy doesn't want to be seen with Mom in public, and Tim decides to sell his beloved hot rod and build one from scratch.
15) "Super Bowl Fever"—Though Jill is sick, Tim decides to go ahead with his Super Bowl party all the same.
16) "Bachelor of the Year"—In a very funny episode, Al changes after he's named one of Detroit's most eligible bachelors. Adding insult to injury, Mark writes a report on the most interesting person he knows, and it turns out to be Wilson instead of Tim.
17) "It's My Party"—Nothing is good enough for Tim, who polishes a floor so much for Randy's big dance that Randy's girlfriend ends up spraining her ankle.
18) "A House Divided"—Tim's friend ends up staying with the Taylors after he blows up his aunt's house while she's away. Will lightning strike twice?
19) "The Naked Truth"—Another very funny episode has Tim copping a peek at his naked sister-in-law when he thinks it's his wife in the shower. And Randy has an embarrassment of his own to cope with.
20) "Talk to Me"—Tim does a number on Jill in an episode where he'll need more than the standard bouquet of flowers to placate her.
21) "No, No, Godot"—In a familiar episode, Tim and Al end up in jail for scalpling tickets. Meanwhile, Wilson gets more than he bargained for when he offers to watch the Taylor boys.
22-23) "Tool Time After Dark" Parts 1 & 2—Tim watches tape after tape of "Tool Time" after eating too much Polish food in this retrospective.
24) "Sisters and Brothers"—Jill's sister is on a mission to observe the Taylors and decide if marriage is for her. Meanwhile, Tim's brother moves to Detroit.
25) "A Marked Man"—Al suspects that one of the boys may have taken a pocket knife, and things look bad when Tim and Jill find it in Mark's pocket at laundry time.
26) "Wilson's Girlfriend"—Jill hooks Wilson up with his first date in 20 years.
Look for guest appearances by Dave Chappelle, Lucy Liu, and Michelle Williams.
Video: The video is a pretty decent 1.33:1 with good color and delineation and very little graininess.
Audio: For Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo, the soundtrack is really bright and robust, which brings all those Foley effects right into your TV room.
Extras: For bonus features there's only a pretty standard blooper reel. In a related area, I have but one complaint: no episode descriptions are included, only the titles, and that's not enough to jog fans' memories. A single-sheet full-color insert was included, but the least a studio can do is to put the episode descriptions on one side instead of hitting people with ads on both.
Bottom Line: "Home Improvement" did a nice job of balancing home and work situations, with the common denominator being Tim Allen's mishap-prone character. Forget "measure twice, cut once." With this guy it's "guess once, cut up most of the time, and deal with the fall-out." The humor can get pretty broad, but the producers bring it down to earth with quiet moments of family interaction. This season has new graphics, some fun episodes, and more involved plotlines for all the the characters.
