8) "The List." When Jack falls off the list of most influential New Yorkers, Nina tries a campaign that blows up in her face. Mark Hamil also appears in a cameo with Finch.
9) "How Nina Got Her Groove Back." Nina gets downcast when a modeling rival hangs it up, and Jack gets just plain annoyed when he learns Donald Trump has a sandwich named after him, and a plan to have a park named after him backfires.
10) "How the Finch Stole Christmas." When he sneaks a peek at the office presents and realizes he was shortchanged, Finch tries to get revenge.
11) "Slow Donnie." Elliott invites Maya to a party for his slow-witted brother, but Maya thinks Donnie is faking it. Meanwhile, a parakeet wreaks havoc. One of the funnier episodes this season.
12) "A Spy in the House of Me." Maya's first love reappears, but it's not Maya he's upsetting--it's Jack.
13) "Lies & Dolls." Maya falls for a presidential candidate who shocks everyone by falling for Nina instead.
14-15) "Nina Sees Red" Pts. 1&2. Finch's dad starts dating Nina following his divorce, and things start moving a little too quickly for Finch.
16) "Hostess to Murder." Maya wants to host a murder mystery party, but her plans are foiled by a real corpse that turns up on her doorstep.
17) "Toy Story." Finch is pulling stunts again. This time he swaps out Elliott's birthday present from Maya with one from another co-worker. So which one really gave him the kinky sex toys? Another funny episode.
18) "Miss Pretty." Maya wants to do a story on the magazine's secret new advice columnist, but Finch is doing his darnedest to stay anonymous.
19) "Maya's Nude Photos." Elliott gets jealous and thinks Maya's photography teacher is out for cheap thrills when he assigns her to do a nude self-portrait.
20) "And the Femmy Goes to . . ." Maya, Nina, and Elliott are nominated for the industry's big award. But of course things are all screwed up . . . by a chimp.
21) "Softball." The gang recruits Maya to pitch in the annual office softball game.
22) "Shaking Private Trainer." Jack hires a personal trainer, then has second thoughts when the former Navy SEAL is a little too gung-ho.
23) "Nina's Choice." Nina isn't exactly the best judge of men, and having to choose between an escaped convict (who's an old boyfriend) and a new love interest who happens to be an FBI agent closing in on him only proves it.
24-25) "The Odd Couple" Pts. 1 & 2. Finch wrangles a date with a vulnerable supermodel just to impress an old high school classmate, and his resulting engagement causes a stir at the magazine.
As ensemble comedies go, this one is good but not great.
Video:
"Just Shoot Me!" is presented in 1.33:1 aspect ratio, with natural-looking colors and just a small amount of grain for a television show. Nothing out-of-the-ordinary, but nothing disappointing either. Just a nice, solid presentation for a TV series.
Audio:
The audio appears to be a no-frills Dolby Digital 1.0, with a slightly hollow sound that emanates from the center. It's not bad, but you really notice the absence of any rear-speaker action.
Extras:
Zero bonus features.
Bottom Line:
"Just Shoot Me!" earned six Emmy nominations, and it's a lot more clever than other workplace sitcoms that have relied too heavily on over-the-top characters. There's zaniness here too, but believable zaniness. You get the feeling that if you hired on at Blush or a magazine just like it, you might run into at least one of these character types.
