" This is the season that gave us "Kelly Goes to Hollywood," and that will be enough for fans.

An episode where Bud celebrates his birthday in a strip-club is also funnier than most, as is one in which Kelly is asked to join a group of high-IQ geeks. As for the England episodes, they don't strike me nearly as funny as they did years ago when I first saw them, but there are some funny moments, just as there are the occasional funny lines, as when Bud deadpans, "Poor Kelly. Her modeling school closed down. They moved upstairs, and none of the girls could find it." But Kelly also gets in a good line now and then. "My teacher doesn't like me," she complains. "Just because one day she wore a pair of jeans that said "Guess," and I guessed size 42."
Other guest stars this season include Joey Lauren Adams ("Chasing Amy"), Denise Richards ("The World Is Not Enough"), porn star Traci Lords, William Sanderson ("Deadwood"), and veteran character actor Fred Willard. Boxer Sugar Ray Leonard, football player "Too Tall" Jones, and heavy-metal rockers Anthrax even show up. Here's a rundown on the 26 episodes that are contained on three single-sided discs:
1-2) "She's Having My Baby," Parts 1-2--Peg and Marcy announce that they're pregnant, and one of the husbands is delighted, while the other is disgusted. Guess who.
3) "If Al Had a Hammer"--When Al tries to build a father-to-be refuge for himself, other fathers-to-be horn in on his action.
4) "Cheese, Cues and Blood"--Kelly makes extra cash by hustling . . . at billiards.
5) "Lookin' fer a Desk in All the Wrong Places"--Al and Jefferson D'Arcy (Ted McGinley) try to find a "maid" while their wives are shopping.
6) "Buck Has a Belly Ache"--At least once each season they turn the cameras on the family's moth-eaten dog, and this time the attention he gets makes Peg jealous.
7) "If I Could See Me Now"--Al gets glasses, and unfortunately sees more than he'd like to.
8) "God's Shoes"--Al gets the feeling that God wants him to mass-market a shoe.
9-10) "Kelly Does Hollywood," Parts 1-2--Kelly's cable-access show goes over big.
11) "Al Bundy, Shoe Dick"--In a dream episode, Al is a private eye involved with an heiress.
12) "So This is How Sinatra Felt"--When Peg thinks Al is cheating on her, she turns her children into spies.
13) "I Who Have Nothing"--Al sees his old high school sweetheart and starts reliving his glory days.
14) "The Mystery of Skull Island"--Bud falls for a woman, and it might be his fall.
15) "Just Shoe It"--Sugar Ray Leonard, pitcher Steve Carlton, and Too Tall Jones end up doing a commercial with Al.
16) "Rites of Passage"--Al takes Bud to a nudie bar. Yeah, like my dad did that.
17) "The Egg and I"--The Bundys try to turn in Marcy's ex-husband (David Garrison) to claim the FBI reward money.
18) "My Dinner with Anthrax"--A romantic anniversary turns into a real headbanger.
19) "Psychic Avengers"--Al takes over Jefferson's psychic prediction scam.
20) "Hi, I.Q."--Kelly is asked to join a group of brainiacs.
21) "Teacher's Pets"--Bud's teacher tells him more than he ought to about the birds and bees.
22) "Goodbye Girl"--Kelly gets a job at TV World theme park.
23) "The Gas Station Show"--Al has to work off his bill at a gas station.
24-26) "England Show," Parts 1-3--The Bundys win a trip to England, but it could cost them . . . their lives.
Video:
The video quality is no great shakes, with a rough, slightly blurry picture that's full of grain. You get used to it, but especially after HD you really notice a transfer like this.
Audio:
The audio is Dolby Digital 2.0, but it doesn't sound that much different from a vibrant Dolby Digital Mono. Again, nothing special here.
Extras:
There are no extras.
Bottom Line:
Do the Bundys grow on you? Yeah, like a bunion. By the sixth season of "Married with Children," the writers were all over the place with their ideas and gimmicks. But this is the season that gave us "Kelly Goes to Hollywood," and that will be enough for fans of the show to add it to their collections.
