VIDEO:
The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen with an aspect ratio of 2.35:1. The transfer is nearly pristine. The blacks and whites come in strong and I couldn't spot any grain or specks.
AUDIO:
The audio is presented in mono with its original Japanese language track with optional English subtitles. The audio is crisp and the score has a total film noir feel to it.
EXTRAS:
The only extras is the theatrical trailer along with the usual a text-based filmography for the director and liner notes.
FILM VALUE:
The visuals are gorgeous, so you've got something pretty to look at during the slow sections. Clues aren't really laid out, but the ending is very strong. Just when you think you've got the answers, the filmmakers twist the situation into something unexpected.
