The jokes are practically nonexistent, or simply don’t make much of a splash.

Audio :
Boat Trip is presented in a suitable Dolby Digital 5.1 surround mix and a Dolby Digital 2.0 track. For those with modern sound setups, the 5.1 mix is preferable, while the 2.0 track is nice for Pro Logic and Stereo setups. The 5.1 mix is not very aggressive and does a wonderful job of carrying dialog and a few songs. There is not very many sound effects for it to conquer and due to the low-key nature of the soundtrack, not much work for it to do and even less room for it to fail. The highs and lows of the musical numbers are quite good. Gloria Gaynor´s "I Will Survive" is present (a prerequisite of any gay-humor films) and sounds good. If you can sit through and enjoy the actual film, you will find nothing at all to dislike about the way it sounds.

Extras :
In order to appeal to a larger audience, Boat Trip is packaged as an "Unrated" edition. There is over 3 Minutes of Never-Before-Seen Footage Re-edited in the Feature!, Live, Groundbreaking Interactive Menus, Tanning Tips Features and Deleted Scenes featured in this "Unrated" DVD. The menus, which are not really groundbreaking, and Tanning Tips Features are occupied by topless Playboy Playmates. Yup, the big selling point of this DVD is the nude Playboy Playmates. I did not venture to see the film theatrically, so I do not know what the additional footage consists of and IMDB doesn´t have any information either. The Deleted Scenes are pretty bad and were wisely deleted from the main feature.

The features not marked as "Unrated" consist of Bloopers and Outtakes featuring The Tide is High a cappella version!, a making of featurette, an Outrageous Trivia Track and a collection of trailers. The outtakes are possibly the best part of the DVD. Some were quite funny. "Going Overboard" is the making of featurette and runs for fifteen minutes. My advice is to avoid it. It is the typical talking heads feature and not worth sitting through. The trivia track runs though the film and offers tidbits about movie related items. The Sneak Peeks Trailer Gallery features a number of Artisan titles, but the Boat Trip trailer must have sunk. There is also Spanish Subtitles. There are some features, and they are nice to have, but there is not enough for me to recommend this DVD based upon value added content.

Summary :
Boat Trip stars the talented Cuba Gooding Jr. and the unknown Horatio Sanz in a cheap knockoff of a gross-out comedy. The film is poor. It really is. There is nudity, but not enough to make this notable, especially for an "Unrated" edition. Cuba is alright in the movie, but he doesn´t belong here. I can´t think of much reason to recommend this title. There are a few humorous moments in the movie, but not enough to warrant a purchase and probably not a rental. There is just so many choices in the DVD world these days and your two hours will be better spent elsewhere.
