One of the differences between this DVD and the previous "Dirty Pair Flash" DVD was the relationship between Kei and Yuri. While they´re still constantly trying to one-up each other, they´re at least resigned to being a team now. As a result, whenever their objectives coincide, their style for taking on trouble is slightly more coordinated.

The other main difference is in the plot. There is no plot that arcs across all five episodes. Still, the episodes by themselves are interesting and well-written, and I enjoyed getting to watch the Lovely Angels take on contemporary life.

Video:
The video is presented in the 1.33:1 (full-screen on 4:3 monitors) aspect ratio. The graininess of the first DVD is gone, leaving the picture clear and vibrantly colored. There were no video flaws that jumped out at me, neither DVD mastering artifacts nor jumpy animation. Some of the special effects could have been better, like the lasers shooting, but this series was originally made in the early-1990s, so it´s not a big surprise that the effects just look OK.

Audio:
You can watch the show with either Dolby Digital 2.0 stereo Japanese or DD 2.0 stereo English. There is an option for English subtitles. (I watched it in Japanese with English subtitles.) Most of the sound comes out of both channels evenly. I didn´t hear any skips or lags. Once or twice it felt like a subtitle or two wasn´t just synched with the voices, but that could have been my imagination.

Extras:
The DVD comes with four extras. The first is Character Bios, which shows a face shot and one page of text on the various characters that appear in the DVD. DP Flash Mission 2 Trailer contains a subtitle and credits-free original Japanese trailer for, well, the Dirty Pair Flash Mission 2 series. Finally, Clean Credit Animation has the original Japanese opening and closing animations without subtitles or credits. As far as I could tell, the only difference between the Japanese and English versions was that the English version replaced the Japanese title screen with one written in English.

The fourth extra was ADV Previews, which has six trailers for other ADV anime productions. As usual, I would like to state my objection to calling advertisements extras.

--Miscellaneous--
The DVD comes with a single-page, colored insert with chapter listings on it.

Film Value:
This DVD has everything you could want in an action series. There are explosions, bad guys, guns, fights, ghosts, chases, more explosions, buddy humor, babes, and even some slight romance. The animation quality is high, and the video and audio defects are low. I´d recommend you watch the first "Dirty Pair Flash" DVD, "Angels in Trouble", before "Angels at World´s End" to get the full effect. Besides, two times the Dirty Pair is twice the fun.
