Video:
Columbia TriStar present the film in two size formats, a rarity nowadays: 1.33:1 standard screen or 1.74 letterboxed widescreen. Either way, the detail is very sharp but a bit grainy in some scenes. Skin colors, which are plentiful, are not always quite natural, looking a shade too shiny, light, glossy, or reddish at times. Bright colors against soft backgrounds, like Ms. Fenn's lipstick, evidence a trace of color bleed. Nevertheless, these are minor concerns in an image that is usually pretty good.
Audio:
The audio, though, is odd. The box advertises Dolby stereo, and as the film was made as recently as 1988 we should expect as much. However, it must be the narrowest stereo in history because no matter how loudly I played it, I couldn't hear much or any sound coming from the left or right speakers, only from the center. What sound we do hear, monaural or narrow stereo, is fairly limited in range, slightly hard, and treble prominent.
Extras:
There's not a whole lot else on the disc but the movie. The production notes announced on the box are nowhere to be found, and there is no trailer. English is the only spoken language, but there are subtitles in English, Spanish, and French, and there's a decent selection of chapter stops.
Parting Shots:
I wish I could think of a better reason for buying or renting this film than ogling Ms. Fenn or Mr. Tyson, but I'm afraid I'm short on answers. I can't even explain what the film's title means, except its being a locale in the story. Maybe it's a wry allusion to Fenn's and Tyson's obvious assets. Anyway, there's no plot, no characterization, little acting, lots of flesh, and some simulated sex. Isn't late-night HBO or Showtime cheaper at this kind of thing?
