The second main fault is the robot that never stops chasing Wataru and Sophia. I suspect that it´s supposed to be an anthropomorphism of everything that´s wrong with society, but for me, it was just annoying. It never took Wataru more than five minutes to dispatch it. Considering the brief runtime of the film, I would have preferred more time be spent on the people and places Wataru and Sophia see than they odd scene spent on blowing up the robot again.

Video:
The video aspect ratio is 1.33:1 (full-screen on 4:3 monitors). The picture quality and colors are mostly good, but there are many artifacts. These are most noticeable when there´s a moving background, or the camera pans. The character design looks so much like something Yoshitake Amano ("Angel´s Egg", the "Final Fantasy" games) or Nobuteru Yuki ("Five Star Stories") would do, I was surprised to learn that neither were involved. The actual character designer was Satoru Nakamura, who is probably most famous for doing the character designs for "Hyper Dolls". Mia culpa, Satoru Nakamura.

Audio:
You can watch the show with either Dolby Digital 2.0 stereo Japanese or DD 2.0 stereo English. There is an option for English subtitles. I chose to watch it in Japanese with English subtitles. There´s nothing special in the audio mix. Sounds are clear, and there was no static or other encoding errors that I could hear.

Extras:
There are no real extras. Central Park Media endeavored to manufacture some extras by having two sections that introduced the main characters and machines. Those sections are appropriately called "Meet the Cast" and "Meet the Mecha". In both, a section from the film that shows the particular character or mecha is played. I didn´t really care for either section.

--Miscellaneous--
There isn´t anything inside of the case. However, the case is clear, and there are black and white pictures on the inside of the cover as well as Japanese and English credits.

Film Value:
Generally speaking, I liked this movie. It wasn´t the greatest film I´ve seen, and it has its problems, but I can see why people like it. The plot is thoughtful, and doesn´t simply wallow in the ugly part of human nature. While many people have become cruel, some still retain higher behavior, such as a daughter´s love for her father, or the desire to protect the weak. Unfortunately, I found the open ending and short run time to be a bit if a turn off, so I can´t promise that I´ll rush out to watch this one again.
